You can try to delete the configuration file (smtube2.ini).
Or copy the configuration from the computer that works to the computer that doesn't work.

but smplayer HAS codecs

mplayer and mpv use their own codecs and aren't available to other players.

So maybe you need to install other codecs in order to play those videos with Windows Media Player.

Can Windows Media Player play the video is you download it first? In that case it's not a problem of codecs.

yes mplayer and iv play downloaded videos fine
iv plays FLV
wmp plays anything
and wmp plays everything on drive fine too
so it WAS working

RVM does the settings for win media look correct
does videos play on WMP on your computer

because im getting this now
i contacted dev on this
this one quit too
in fact this msg happens w mybat file and i need use sm tube to open it
but again it works w laptop
im wondering if something isnt working w you tube on this computer
