Update to current version fails / Uninstall fails also

I'm using SM Player with Windows 10 1709. I downloaded the latest version of SM Player 18.3.0, but the installer fails. It prompts for user privileges as expected, but nothing is done, and the installer obviously ends without any note. Taskmanager doesn't show any related stuff.
I assume that this problem has to do with the lastest Windows 10 version 1709 March cumulative update, build 16299.309 (and 16299.334 too), because privious updates worked as expected.
I have another machine with exactly the same OS level (Windows 10 Pro 1709, build 16299.334) with the same problem: Cannot install / upgrade to new version, AND cannot uninstall the program.
As a side note, I have another program with exactly the same problem: MediaInfo, by MediaArea. No Install or Uninstall possible, on both my Windows Machines.
Anybode there with similar problems ?

Mine failed at the first try, I had to abort it and try again, the second time there were no issues
