Problem with DV File playback

Postby bsw11 » Mon May 31, 2010 10:35 pm

I just upgraded a PC to an I7 860 with an ATI 5770 (getting a Galaxy 470 this week), When I play some apple encoded DV files over the network they play choppy - which is a mystery to me seeing as the network is a 3% and the CPU at 10%.

When I just change the demuxer to lavf and then back to the original the problem goes away - its almost like it needs a restart to fix itself.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Also I take this time to ask my usual question - any activity on the playlist front? :-)

I upgraded to your new experimental version and its working great - but this problem still exists - however it is not what I described above - the problem IS the lavfprref demuxer - that is what is causing the stuttering of the video. When I change to mov it works perfect. So if fixing lavfpref is a problem then is there a way to force all .dv files to just use the mov demuxer?

Also will mplayer ever be setup to use the Windows 7 EVR renderer which uses hardware mp4 playback?

Though I must say mp4 are now playing fine for me, but just wondering.

And since its 2011, its time once again to bug you about updating the playlist interface :-)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

It's so hard to find a stable Windows MPlayer build, they all have problems of some sort. I have a library of videos and try to test with them that has different qualities (container, codec, super high bitrate, etc) and have found MPlayer r32735 and the last couple of builds to perform well with the popular containers/formats and to have included them.

What about H264 MP4 files, have they been working with the latest build? Re: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=492
