Possible addition to Send video to screen 2 - DISPLAY2

Postby Xenos » Thu May 17, 2018 12:26 pm

Hi,

I recently found out about SMPlayer and I'm really happy that I can use it on a dual monitor setup the way I need to.
Actually, there will be a projector connected to a laptop or a pc and I need the following:
To have fullscreen playback on the projector (2nd display), so that the students will only be watching the video (not what is on the desktop of the computer).
To have the SMPlayer (and the playlist) on the primary monitor (1st display) so I can control everything from there, without distracting the students’ attention.
I can have exactly what I need (thank you!!!), by using:
Video --> Send video to screen --> 2 - DISPLAY2

However there are two things that I would like you to consider implementing.

1.
When using Send video to screen --> 2 - DISPLAY2:
Stay on top Always (maybe available as an option, along with “Never” and “While playing”) and also with right-click menu disabled on DISPLAY2.
This way nothing could interfere with playback and distract the viewers, not even by accident (eg drag a browser window, an open document, or even the SMPlayer window from the first monitor to the second). For now, this option only works on the primary screen.

2.
I have created shortcuts for:
Send video to screen --> 1 - DISPLAY1 and Send video to screen --> 2 - DISPLAY2

When I hit Send video to screen --> 2 - DISPLAY2, it seems that the fullscreen on the 2nd display becomes the active window of SMPlayer.
This means that when I hit the shortcut for Send video to screen --> 1 - DISPLAY1 (to return to the primary display) nothing happens.
In order for the shortcut to work, first I have to click with the mouse anywhere on the main SMPlayer window to activate it and only then, the shortcuts work.

Would it be possible to create a “toggle” feature that we could assign to a key, to be able to toggle between the DISPLAY2 playback and the main SMPlayer window?

Thanks again for all your work,
Xenos
