Lirc support

Idea from old forum ( http://smplayer.berlios.de/forums/viewtopic.php?id=149 ) is good but before smplayer "get" an action it first shows something like "To jest SMPlayer v. 0.6.9 (SVN r3447) uruchomiony na Linux
" what is making almost 1s delay from moment that I pressed a button. Can it be fixed? If not then maybe native lirc support? Here someone wirte about a patch ( viewtopic.php?f=4&t=239&hilit=lirc and http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=124483 ) but it isn't on upstream (and on repositories) which forces me to compile smplayer each time that i want to update it...
