smplayer does not remember file position

Hi,
Question's in subject,
smplayer does not remember file position.
Read forum, did things I found to fix that

1 in Preferences/General check options to remember settings and time.
2 in Preferences/Playlist uncheck option to Play files from start (this was checked by default).
3 Don't turn the option "Press the stop button once resets the time position" on

Nothing helps

I really need this option, how can I make it work?

Be sure the file smplayer.ini in the smplayer configuration folder (there's an option in the Help menu to open it) is not read-only.

smplayer.ini files' "read only" option is unchecked.
However, I tried to check/unckeck it once - and it seems to work!
Wow. Just hope this effect will remain.
Wonder I haven't met this advice anywhere, well, now it's here on forum and maybe will help someone else.
