I too am having this problem. It started with this version
mpv-x86_64-20190622-git-c9e7473.7z

and the problem still exists in all the below.
mpv-x86_64-20190630-git-c9e7473.7z
mpv-x86_64-20190707-git-c379950.7z
mpv-x86_64-20190714-git-65b1c2d.7z

Cannot find any logged errors. I am reverting to known good version
mpv-x86_64-20190616-git-6aecd10.7z
The freezing is not present wth that version

This issue has been fixed in the last version: mpv-x86_64-20190810-git-639ee55.7z
