Feature suggestion: Pause and Stop audio/video with fade-out

Postby Xenos » Wed Sep 18, 2019 3:07 pm

Hi,

When it's necessary to stop audio playback but you want to do it gently (instead of just pushing Pause or Stop, which in case there is an audience feels really awkward), you try to turn the volume all the way down manually. However, since you have to do this by dragging with the mouse, most of the times the result isn't so smooth...

So I was wondering if it would be possible to add an option to stop or pause the playback of an audio file with a fade out?
Ideally, there should be an option in Preferences for the user to set the duration of the fade out.
Also, if the user activates this feature, it should only be available when either the Pause or the Stop button is pushed (when the playback is manually interrupted).
When the playback of an audio file reaches its end without interruptions, it should stop normally (without fading out, even if the user has activated this feature).

And to push it even further, it would be awesome if there was a similar feature for video.

I hope you'll give it a thought.

Best regards,
