How to made the video window stay docked?

Postby vidfreek » Mon Mar 23, 2020 4:31 pm

Its unclear to me why but in some of my smpalyer installations the video window is separate from the interface window.
With the playlist its pretty straight forward how to "dock" it but to me at least, its not as clear how to make the video window dock.
Essentially I just want to have one window with the interface, the playing video and the playlist all in one window (unless i select full screen in which case i'd want to just see the video itself).
How can i do this?

Be sure the option to "run mplayer/mpv in its own window" in preferences -> advanced -> mplayer/mpv is not enabled.
If that's not the case, try changing the video output option in preferences -> general -> video.

Thanks for the response.
I have tried messing with the video output options (and tried again just for shizzles) but nada
I must have missed the mpv option but anyway i looked and it was not checked. I actually tried turning it on and playing, then off and playing nada.

I did notice that when i changed the MPV option the playlist went from along the side of the window (when mpv was unchecked) to taking up the full window (when mpv was checked). Noramlly there is a black area where the video would normally be when i try to fun it with mpv unchecked (when checked the playlist just fills the whole win).

I also tried deleting .config/smplayer and stube then trying to play stuff... nada.

Other thoughts? Perhaps there is some config somewhere i am not noticing?
