skip ahead delays

Hi, I am running the latest smplayer on a windows 10 64 bit system. I use the 'forward1' function (jump ahead 10 seconds) a lot with mp4 videos. I find that although the audio plays on as expected, the video often freezes for a few seconds. It is quite variable, sometimes no freeze, sometimes a long freeze. I'm not sure if this is a problem with the mp4 file or something else. Is there anything I can do? Thanks...

I'm not sure if this is your problem, but be sure the option "precise seeking" in preferences -> interface > seeking is not enabled.

Unfortunately those settings had little effect. I suspect the problem may be in the video encoding, since it doesn't happen on some videos and is very bad on others.
