High speed frame-by-frame fast forward

Hi,

normally i use avisynth and avspmod to create subtitles from recorded files. i load the file in an avisynth-script open it in avspmod. with the cursor i can scroll fast trough the video but avspmod shows all frames. its not realy a fast forward. so i find subtitles and can create text subtitle files. normal fast forward in smplayer don't work. problem: i use ubuntu and avisynth/avspmod are windows tools and they have some problems working with wine. there is no working linux port and for vapoursynth i need python knowledge.

When the . key i can jump from one frame to the next. pressing the button continuously plays the video in normal speed. can i play it faster but still frame by frame?
