Suggestion: SMPlayer should be able to rip DVDs

I am hoping that SM Player will have the ability to rip DVDs and have the ability to edit the resolution when forcing the aspect ratio before saving the dvd. For example, if I were to rip a dvd with the aspect ratio of 16:9 with a resolution of 1280x720, the video should play in that resolution, therefore not having maximize the player.

I disagree, there are many freeware/shareware DVD rippers out there already. Keep SMPlayer as a Player, don't add features that add to the possibility of additional bugs and increase the size of the program.
