TV stutters with current Mplayer

Since I installed Mplayer 1.0rc3 there's no more smooth video when watching analog TV with SMPlayer. Audio is OK, but video is like a slideshow. This is only in SMPlayer, if I run TV in pure Mplayer, it works smoothly. Any newer Mplayer behaves this way.
