Can't you just unzip them, before playing?

Of course i could, but that would ruin the fun.

The main reason why i'm trying to get this work is because i store these on a fileserver.
To unzip them i have to copy them to my computer, unzip/rar them and then copy it back onto the fileserver. Unraring on the fileserver isn't an option, because it's a pretty old computer so it would take a long time on larger archives.

I've got the shares mounted on my comp. using samba, but unraring through LAN is slow, too.

I tried to replace mplayer with smplayer, but it did not work; Smplayer didn't open anything.

The unrarexec thing didn't change anything at all(I tried using 7zip az unrar), but i may not have unrarexec support, i'll check it later.

I'll try a few things, and post it here if i got it working.
