Change in Repeat function between 0.6.7-1 and 0.6.9-1?

Why was the repeat function changed, and is there any option (other than down grading) to get it to function like it used to?

The new function in 0.6.9-1 disables the ability to set a global repeat on every file. If you want a file to repeat, you have to open it, and set it to repeat. When having a play list is another story. Not that I use the repeat function often, but I think repeat is used a lot more often than the A-B repeat section, and deserves it's on separate icon on the play menu. There should also be an option to get the old behavior back.

You can use the repeat button in the playlist. When a file is opened, it's added to the playlist, so if that button is on, it will be repeated.

A couple of versions ago I was able to select an A-B section, set Repeat on, and the section would play and repeat. Now (r3468) it no longer repeats. Is there any way to return that feature? I don't want to have to work with the Playlist.

The problem seems to be with mplayer.git-20100211-4.5.0-Kovensky-mt. Went back to 30521 and things seem okay. Sorry for the alarm...

Getting back on the issue of the thread starter:

I may be wrong but I think that the playlist solution is *slower* from what was possible with the repeat function in previous version.
What happens now is that the video is closed and opened again instead of the seek position going back to 0.
The problem with this is that it is slower and causes a break in the play, on some videos of about 2 seconds or so... The video play is not smooth as it used to be.

Right now I just tried both ways (1) Play / A-B section / Repeat and the (2) playlist repeat... and the difference is as noticeable as night and day.

Is there any work around for this?

Anyway I think I'll try to make the "repeat" a global option again, as many people complained about it.
