A/B Repeat fuction seems to be buggy

I can't get flvs to a/b repeat. Others are giving me trouble too.I always have to check the repeat before I can get any a/b thing to loop.Isn't that a given, you set a/b points to loop the section don't you?
The player is really nice but the A/B function is puzzling me.....

Yes, of course you have to check the repeat option if you want the A-B section to be repeated. Otherwise it will stop when it reaches the B mark.

Why? If you are going to stop and not repeat you can just hit pause. I thought the whole point of A?B repeat is to loop a small section.On the MV2 player for example you set A then you set B and it starts looping. You can even fine tune the entry points.The you can clear the loop and the song or video moves on.
Unfortunately the MV2 player does not play flv files.
I wish the SM player did not have the buggy a/b so I could use it for everything but at this point ( especially since nobody can offer any solutions)I'll keep looking for other alternatives.
