There is a non-needed delay before the mouse cursor appears

Postby realnc » Sun Feb 12, 2012 5:41 pm

Currently, SMPlayer uses a delay before the mouse cursor becomes visible when you move it. This delay doesn't seem to offer any purpose whatsoever. Would it be possible to remove this delay? I do not know why it was introduced in the first place. It doesn't seem accidental or a bug, it seems this was put there on purpose. But I don't see why.

It checks if the mouse moved every 1 second. That's why the delay happens.

Can this be done without polling? Like a signal handler for the mouse movement?

This cursor delay is not a serious issue but it can be quite irritating.
Is there a way around it?

Thanks.

After some days playing around with SMPlayer I decided to keep it as my default player. I love the interface, the sharpness of image, the options, the YouTube function...
But... this cursor delay is driving me nuts!
Can't this be adressed for some reason?
Isn't it possible to, at least, have an option to always show the cursor when not in full screen? Because that's when I'm always using the mouse and this glitch becomes an issue.

Thanks for a wonderful app.

I think I've just fixed it (svn r4833).

I've installed version 0.8.2.1 (SVN 4838) and confirm that it's fixed.
Kudos.

Hello rvm and Joxx,

A sophisticated update by svn r4833 (svn r4838); the mouse pointer can be found easier now.
Thanks!
