no sound after first play

I just installed smplayer 0.6.9-1 on Crunchbang (Debian)and played a piece of a movie to test and it works.
But after opening the same movie in my old player (vlc) again, testing if the subtitles worked there, too, everything changed.

I don't have sound anymore when playing it in smplayer now.
Any ideas?

I love the feature of being able to find and download subtitles straight from smplayer, btw

Maybe it's caused by a bug in old versions of mplayer. Go to preferences -> general, and disable the option "remember settings for all files" and try again.

If it works, consider to update mplayer.
