Problematic chars in movie name?

I can ask for one thing. When I double click on this file, Smplayer starts but movie is not playing:
MovienameS07E10.HDTV.XviD-LOL.[VTV].avi
Then I found out when I remove [] chars, it plays OK. Anyway, when I start Smplayer first and use drag and drop file on Smplayer, it works OK with those chars. How is it possible?
When I do the same with VLC player, everything is OK.
I work under Linux

I've just tested to open a video with that filename and it opens ok. Running linux (ubuntu 11.10) using nautilus as file manager.

Send the smplayer log.

I open it from PCmanFM. Hmm, I tried to open it from Double Commander and it works. Hmm, PCman is a culprit?

PCmanFM passes the filenames as file://... which was not fully supported by smplayer.

I think this is fixed in svn r3984.
