Limited Zoom?

I've noticed that with the last several versions SMPlayer won't allow zooming that will cause cropping of the video image. If I "zoom" to a smaller size than the frame the video is in, the player acts as expected but I rarely need to make the video smaller.

To better explain, since I typically watch on a 4:3 monitor that is only about 20 inches and most videos are in 16:9 or widescreen, I like to zoom in to almost fill the vertical size of my monitor which of course would/should cause the far right & left sides of the video image to be cropped off. This allows me to make use of the available monitor size and back up a bit to enjoy the movie. This has not been happening for several versions now. Instead the zoom will increase only until the edge of the video image "meets" the edge of the monitor and then stops increasing with the increase in zoom. Of course since the Horizontal zoom is usually already at max only the vertical zoom is applied causing image distortion.

I am wondering if some default setting has changed not allowing the video image to be cut off. I've searched through the menus but haven't knowingly come across it. Perhaps it's some other issue?

What video output are you using?

It doesn't happen to me.

I do wish someone would fix this. It appears to be a directx issue.

I was actually playing with zoom last night (did not see your post before then) and it seemed to work fine.

It might be that the problem is only with older Windows versions. I'm seeing the problem I reported with WinXP-SP1.
