Can SMplayer use 8.3 filename on Windows?

Postby zhuzeitou » Wed Mar 14, 2012 3:07 pm

The problem is that when I use SMplayer to play a file named "01 メタルマックス・メインテーマ.flac" on windows 7, it does not work and mplayer shows that "File not found: '01 メタルマックス?メインテーマ.flac'", but it works when I use 8.3 filename in command line as "mplayer 01メタ~1.FLA".

So I want to ask if it is posible to use 8.3 filename on windows instead of the full filename to avoid the above problem, and excuse for my poor English.

In the SMPlayer options there a setting for it under Advanced: Pass short filenames (8+3) to MPlayer.
