Can't get out of full screen

Sometimes when watching a video in full screen smplayer pretty much freezes. I can't use alt-tab to change to other windows or press the windows key to bring up the start menu. Pressing f does nothing. Today I had to do a hard shutdown to get out of it. This is an intermittent problem. I'm using Version: 0.7.1. The video that froze had these properties:

Any idea whats causing this problem? Thanks

Post is kinda old. By now, you should be using SMP 0.8 - may / may not fix the problem.
In full screen, you can try Esc - that also takes it out of full screen for me, but hitting 'F' does too.
