frame counter doesn't count?

Sorry if this has been asked. When I searched the forum, results said, "frame & counter are very common words & were ignored." No hits.
SMPlayer 0.8 r4355 in Vista x64, the frame counter doesn't seem to count on any video. I searched bug tracker but found nothing related.

Does it work for anyone w/ Windows or has it ever worked?
The counter (that I added) displays on the status bar, at very lower R of screen.

I never even used it before.

It doesn't seem to work in older MPlayer builds either (like r33216 that was included before 0.8.0).

The frame counter only works with some formats, like avi or mpeg. It doesn't seem to work with mkv or mp4.

rvm - Have you seen it work, recently? Which pkg / OS were you using? I'm using lachsOr's Windows build w/ SMPlayer (not SMP2).
Is frame counter solely a function of mplayer / mplayer2, & SMP just displays data (if working)? Or could there be some lack of communication betwn the 2?

redxii - I've definitely tried it on wmv, mpeg, mov - didn't work either. Not sure if tried on avi.

Maybe I should ask this on MPlayer / MPlayer2 mailing list, but...

Thanks. That's probably one reason it doesn't work for me - using mplayer2 & SMPlayer (not 2). Frame counter doesn't work on any formats - for me. Not a huge deal - might be handy for certain things. Like comparing exact frames side by side using diff video outputs, etc. Oh, well. Everything else that I've tried seems to work.
