No sound on MKV files with smplayer-0.6.9.3539!

I had a similar issue ... for mkv files, the sound would either not be there or if it did, it was like morse code ... dots and dashes.

I overwrote the mplayer with version 31170 and it is all ok now!

I even just installed "MPlayer for Windows" MPUI 1.2-Pre Build 38, MPlayer Core Version: Sherpya-MT-SVN-r31170-4.2.5

And my MKV files play fine with normal sound.

So something had to have changed afer build smplayer-0.6.9.3532.

I really do not think it has to do with SMPlayer.

I think it is an mPlayer problem because I started facing this problem about 8 versions before 3532. At that time, I tried every version of smplayer with no luck. I thought it had to do with my setting and and reset the whole thing ... nope, no use. I then uninstalled and reinstalled SMPlayer ... still no luck.

I then downloaded Mplayer which happened to be 30269 if I remember right and still had the problem. I then happened to come across an mplayer version with 31170 downloaded that and it had no problem. So, I downloaded the mplayer binaries without any player and copied/pasted it on top of the SMPlayer install that was already on my PC .... this time it worked perfectly.

I'm not really sure about 3532 since by then I had already switched to 31170. I did try 3523, 3519, 3506 & 3502 with similar results. The version before that 3488 also I'm not sure ... it was working for movies in general, but back then I did not run an mkv file through it.

At 3502, my daughter tried an mkv file and complained. My first reaction was that she messed up the settings on my laptop and I started grumbling at her. It was only at 3506 (or 3519 ... not sure) that I managed to pin down the problem and felt guilt of accusing my daughter

As I said, r3532 & r3539 installer already had Sherpya MPlayer r31170, and that there were no changes to SMPlayer between the builds..

Updated to r3543 and downloaded the mplayer files from oss.netfarm.it again. Setup size is 18.1MB instead of 16.8MB. The same build of CPU Runtime detection MPlayer was different than last time. If you're using the Intel MT build and it still doesn't work, try the Generic or vice versa. You have to select "Change Settings" to select a different MPlayer.
